What was particularly exciting was that we didn't plan anything at all, but instead looked at what we could find the night before and asked locals when were out and managed to find some amazing places to eat, drink and relax. There's also a Facebook Group entitled Gratis øl <3 Fri entre! ('We love free beer!') where people post events with free drinks going on, such as album launches etc. We weren't able to make any of the events posted there but it definitely seemed a good source of information (Danish translation often required though!).
One of the spontaneous spots we found was called Manfreds & Vin, which is a wine bar and small kitchen with fantastic food. We were in one of these indulgent lunchtime moods where we just wanted to slowly drink white wine and eat lovely morsels (The Circus in Bath is a good one for this, closer to home); which was exactly what we got from Manfreds!
Alongside of this, we sampled a bottle of their carefully selected white wine - a natural, sulphite free variety from France. I can't remember the name unfortunately, but it really was a taste of summer and a true extravagance.
After 5 days falling completely in love with Copenhagen, I definitely want to go back (now? can I?) and would go back to Manfreds in a blink.
